Assess the technical feasibility to customer inquiries given knowledge of TRC and partner organization capabilities. Ensure clear understanding of testing expectations from customer and negotiate protocols as needed. Offer any ideas for improvement for more valuable results, lower cost, or time. Support development of customer proposals as needed to ensure work plans and quotations accurately address customer testing needs and constraints. Provide technical guidance and engineering support needed in acquiring new business opportunities.
Provide technical support to Project Managers of assigned projects. Develop work descriptions and test plans based upon customers’ needs and TRC processes. Coordinate equipment needs for a test, ensuring needed assets available, and instrumentation properly installed. Ensure final test plans are agreed to by the customer and clear to drivers.
Provide technician oversight and/or direct active involvement with test execution, data collection, analysis and reporting; supporting agreed to timeliness. Review test data early and often to ensure all equipment is functioning well, procedures are properly interpreted, and testing stays on track.
Provide accurate and timely data to Project Management for project tracking. Ensure all data and test assets are properly handled. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise on the project, reporting non-conformances to TRC management and the customer.
Ensure clear, accurate communication of results that meet or exceed customer quality expectations. Support Project Management in ensuring all project activity is properly billed to customer and test assets are properly dispositioned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)
Support R&D activities as needed to investigate and develop new testing capabilities at TRC or through collaboration with partner organizations.
Assist in building TRC’s technical credibility across current and potential future customer base. Contribute to technical papers for organizations, such as SAE. Travel to off-site customers, trade shows, and technical session sites.
Develop customer proposals, project budgets, and provide project management functions during project execution.
Present project proposals and prepare a final report with test results for customer representatives.
Support TRC Inc.’s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) efforts
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience and aptitude
Experience with product development, especially automotive testing
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and meeting tight deadlines
Passion for automobiles and testing their limits is preferred
Strong problem-solving skills

Familiar with automotive technology, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
