DLZ is looking for entry level individuals willing to work hard and learn new skills. DLZ will provide the necessary training for you to be successful in your role as a Technician - Materials Testing in Western Pennsylvania!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform material testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt concrete, and concrete in the laboratory and on construction sites.
- Interpret and follow applicable specifications and standards.
- Obtain and record field/lab data, in a legible and organized fashion; as required by the plans, specifications, or project staff.
- Generate and compile reports.
- Speak with team members for a given project assignment, including the contractor and owner's representatives.
- Communicate with all entities keeping everyone fully informed.
- Maintain testing equipment as required.
- Understand and follow the public health and safety requirements and the proper safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Adept at both verbal and written communication
- Preferred experience with e-Builder
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Punctuality a must and the ability to work some weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Ability to frequently lift 50lbs
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to occasionally travel throughout Pennsylvania and neighboring states
- Valid driver's License and ability to pass MVR check required
- The Following Certifications are Preferred but not Required:
- ACI Concrete Field
- NECEPT Concrete
- NECEPT Bituminous Field Technician
- Nuclear Densometer Safety with Hazmat
- Relevant NICET certifications (Construction Materials Testing; Asphalt, Concrete, Soils)
- Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with DLZ's Health and Safety Plan
