Job Description
The Project Manager will work in a diverse group of engineering and business associates and will be a key resource for proposal development and delivery of customer projects which leverage TRC’s world class test facilities and personnel. Project manager in TRC Inc.’s Road Performance Evaluation (RPE) group will be supporting longstanding residential clients as they conduct self-supported testing on the proving ground. The Project Manager will also coordinate and arrange support for RPE engineers and technicians to perform turnkey services such as standardized testing. The Project Manager will also lead and manage long-term durability programs; working with and communicating with internal support groups including but not limited to Scheduling Office, Garage Services, Facility Support, Engineering, Purchasing and Business Development. Project Managers are responsible for monitoring and maintaining accurate project records to ensure timely and accurate billing of services.

Essential Functions*
  • Learn customer test objectives and communicate the objectives to the supporting B.U.’s
  • Develop work descriptions based upon customers objectives and knowledge of the processes involved
  • Develop & coordinate project budgets and proposals based upon customer objectives and supporting B.U. inputs

Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)
  • Develop test plans based upon customer’s objectives and processes involved
  • Communicate test plans, proposals, non-conformances, and project status to internal and external customers
  • Coordinate project support for efficient and timely use of resources
  • Manage project budgets
  • Conduct post-project reviews
  • Maintain proprietary atmosphere
  • Perform customer presentation
  • Travel to offsite customer, trade show, and technical session sites
  • Support TRC Inc.’s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) efforts

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years’ related experience
  • General aptitude and experience in testing and/or research, or project management
  • Knowledge of processes involved in vehicle testing preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project) with experience using macros in Excel is a plus
  • Basic project management skills

Working conditions
  • Standard office, climate controlled environment
