Job Description

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic worker to bring onto our team and clean carpets. This employee is responsible for identifying, selecting, mixing and applying chemical/manual solutions to provide quality carpet cleaning.

40 hours per week, employer pays employee benefits, housing discount, professional development, PTO & 10 Company paid Holidays

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning fluids and ability to determine what cleaning solutions

2. Ability to repair seams and stretch carpet.

3. Ability to determine the content of carpet fibers and padding.

4. Ability to determine what cleaning solutions work best on specific stains.

5. Ability to operate machinery appropriately.

6. Knowledge about what cleaning fluids may be harmful to the floor coverings.

7. Minimum of one (1) years prior experience. Current and valid drivers’ license required.

8. Good customer service skills. Manage difficult or emotional customer situations. Respond promptly to customer needs. Solicit customer feedback to improve service. Respond to requests for service and assistance. Meet commitments.

9. Good planning/organizing skills. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and work activities of team. Use time efficiently. Plan for additional resources. Set goals and objectives. Develop realistic action plans.

10. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to focus on solving conflict, not blaming. Maintain confidentiality. Listen to others without interrupting. Keep emotions under control. Remain open to others’ ideas. Willing to try new things.

11. Good oral and written communication skills.

a. Oral - Ability to speak English clearly in positive or negative situations. Listens and asks for clarification. Responds well to questions.

12. Competent Crisis Management skills – Ability to “think on one’s feet” by making wise and rapid decisions independently in response to a crisis situation, especially from the moment it first occurs to the point recovery procedures start. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Stand and walk or sit alternatively depending on specific needs of the day. Estimate 66% to 100% of time is spent on feet.

· Have constant need (66% to 100% of the time) to perform the following physical activities:

o Bend/Stoop/Squat Pick up litter, perform routing repairs, pick up tools

o Climb Stairs Service requests, make-ready on upper floors

o Push or Pull Move equipment, furniture, appliances

o Reach Above Shoulder Service requests, stock/remove equipment/parts

o Climb Ladders Service requests, building maintenance

o Grasp/Grip/Turning Handle tools/equipment, routine maintenance

o Finger Dexterity Handle tools/equipment, routine maintenance

o Writing Inventory maintenance, routine maintenance

· Have frequent need (66% to 100% of the time) to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting and maintaining property.

· Lifting/Carrying:

o Over 150 lbs. Rare need (less than 1% of the time)

o 75-100 lbs. Occasional need (1% to 33% of the time)

o 25-75 lbs. Frequent need (33% to 66% of the time)

o 1-25 lbs. Constant need (66% to 100% of the time)

VISION REQUIREMENTS:

· Constant need (66% to 100% of the time) to complete forms, read and review reports and a wide variety of correspondence, view computer screen. Frequent need to see small detail.

· Frequent need (33% to 66% of the time) to see things clearly beyond arm's reach (inspecting community, neighborhood surveys).

· Must be able to determine colors properly because of decorating, design, paint colors, etc.

HEARING REQUIREMENTS:

· Constant need (66% to 100% of the time) to communicate over telephone, radio, and in person with management, vendors, and residents.

SPEAKING REQUIREMENTS:

· Constant need (66% to 100% of the time) to communicate over telephone and in person.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

· Constant need (66% to 100% of the time) to inspect property/community and move tools/equipment to work site.

· Must have reliable transportation as necessary to safely and effectively carry out the responsibilities listed above.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

· Indoors (33% to 66% of the time); outdoors (33% to 66% of the time); all conditions (33% to 66% of the time).

· Frequent exposure to caustics, solvents, oils, fumes, flammables, pesticides, etc. (33% to 66% of the time).

REASONING DEVELOPMENT:

· HIGH. Must be able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect pertinent data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and initiate appropriate course of action. Must effectively convey ideas, images and goals to a diverse group of personalities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $22.00 per hour
