About this Position:

The Process Manufacturing Engineer designs processes to ensure a safe and efficient weld department. You will use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize Weld production functions and new model launches.

Responsibilities include:

* Use M.O.S.T. to develop balanced processes across manufacturing areas. Work to achieve 95% Process Efficiency. Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques. Design processes that are simple and achieve SQCDM targets. Maintain process layout

* Manage logistics plan for dept.'s part delivery & packaging

* Regularly lead meetings with other Honda functional groups to develop and launch improvement themes (Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, NM, Packaging, or Logistics).

* Perform time estimates for weld process, equipment loads, and develop Operation Standards. Support cycle time optimization

* Identify opportunities to reduce waste within weld operations and improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, workstation design, and set best practices for production.

* Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.

* Support New Model Events. Forecast design impact to department. Incorporate change points into process design. Identify concerns and countermeasure before mass production.

* Develop Plans and Schedules for projects. Set timelines and detailed activities. Hold meetings with cross functional engineering groups to ensure completeness.

* Project support for all items impacting Weld department's Associate Process.

* Collect feedback from the production floor and address their concerns.

Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:

* 0-6 years' dependent upon education level

Required Education:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial) or 6 years' relevant work experience

Desired skills:

* Excel VBA, Standard Time Evaluation, Workstation Design, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Customer Service

Additional Position Factors:

* Occasional split/ second shift support required

* 0-5 hours OT weekly

* 50% manufacturing environment, 50% office environment
