Engineer - Leadership Development Rotational Program

Who we are looking for:

Atkore is seeking Engineers to be a part of our two-year rotational program, titled Atkore Leadership Development Program (ALDP), who can work in a team-based environment, have strong leadership capabilities and overall business acumen to include financial understanding, and contribute significant results to strategic objectives.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and help maintain standard work for all processes and positions, along with working with other teams to share best practices with respect to following & modifying standard work.
  • Design/Improve/Contribute to (new) product development.
  • Ensure Lean principals (5S, Standard Work, TPM, etc.) are implemented in any new or redesigned piece of equipment.
  • Eliminate chronic problems by using various problem-solving techniques.
  • Ensure an effective manufacturing process control program that maintains focus on prevention of internal rejects, writes protocols and performs validations of new/improved materials and processes.
  • Support plant cost reduction and process improvement projects using Quality tools such as process capability, Pareto analysis, and other Six Sigma/Lean tools.
  • Performs Other Duties as Assigned.
  • Examples of previous projects include creating a mobile showroom, building expansions, implementing sitewide 5S programs, and deploying new product line installations.

What you'll bring:

  • Graduating Spring of 2024 with an Engineering degree.
  • Experience in outside organizations with an emphasis in leadership abilities.
  • Willingness to relocate to one of our U.S. locations twice in two years.

Within 6 Months, You'll:

  • Complete your new hire "Immersion" so that you are ready to rock in your new role and have embraced Atkore's culture and business system.
  • Gain an understanding of how your job will help deliver on Atkore's success.
  • Lead value add projects that support the growth of the business.

Within 12 Months, You'll:

  • Partake in mid and end year report outs to senior and executive level leadership from the first year rotation.
  • Complete first rotation and transition into second rotation within the program

Within 24 Months, You'll:

  • Be assigned a mentor from the senior leadership team to support development.
  • Partake in mid and end year report outs to senior and executive level leadership on projects completed during second rotation.
  • Be aligned on a promotable opportunity within a specific career track. Examples of career tracks are operations leadership, product management, technical sales, and process engineering.

After 24 Months, You'll:

  • Take on a full-time position within the company with a streamlined path to leadership.
  • Act as an Alumni advisor to first and second year individuals in the program.
