Job Description

We are seeking a candidate to join the Pitter Lab as Post Doctoral Researcher at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Pitter lab is interested in understanding the role of tumor heterogeneity in cancer biology and therapeutic resistance, with a special interest in radiation resistance and pancreatic cancer. We approach this question using a combination of sophisticated genetically engineered mouse models, single cell transcriptomics, tracing and ablation of distinct tumor cell lineages, CRISPR-mediated gene regulation, and advanced imaging techniques. We have NIH-funding and intramural funding available to support a motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow specifically focused on intratumoral heterogeneity and radiation resistance in pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor; conducts research to characterize the genetic basis of human cancers; develops, adopts and implements new laboratory methods to achieve characterization of the genetic basis of human cancers; identifies novel genes and examines their role in cancer development; analyzes changes in gene copy number and mRNA or protein expression, gene cloning and mutation detection; participates in analyzing data for reports for the purpose of grants submissions; trains staff in molecular biology techniques.

Education/Experience:

  • A Doctoral degree in Oncology and Cancer Biology or an appropriate discipline is required.

  • Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Target hiring range: $56,484-$68,604 annually (NIH scale)
