Right now, we're looking for a talentedLegal Internto join our team! The Legal Intern, under general direction of counsel, will perform research and write related memoranda, assist in the preparing and drafting of contracts and other transactional work, manage discovery requests, provide litigation support, assist with legal projects, assist with legal operations including SOPs, and handle and assist with other matters as assigned by the legal team.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs legal research in various areas of law, including but not limited to, employment law, health and safety, environmental, and state-specific procedural laws. Draft legal memoranda regarding the research and prepare summary of findings.
  • Researches applicable law and analyzes and provides recommendations based on research results.
  • Responds to emails/questions from counsel on general legal issues.
  • May draft correspondence in response to pending matters.
  • Review and draft contracts, along with providing support on various transactional matters.
  • Assists in due diligence processes which may include but is not limited to research, analysis, drafting communications, proofreading, and appraising various legal documents.
  • Performs a variety of tasks associated with all facets of case preparation and litigation related matters (including litigation support).
  • Assist with legal projects including compliance-related matters
  • Assist with legal operations including drafting and revising department SOPs

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in law school, completing at least one year of study
  • Knowledge of principals, practices, methods and materials of legal research and analysis
  • Passion and interest in Litigation, corporate law, and/or transactional law
  • Ability to research legal issues and present a clear and logical argument and statement of facts and law
  • Strong communicator with the ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) and build rapport with legal team and various internal customers
  • Ability to work full-time in the summer, with the potential opportunity to work part time (approximately 15-20 hours per week) throughout the school year.
  • Can work independently and has willingness to anticipate the needs of a particular matter by being proactive
