As aFilm Development Chemistfor the PPG Advanced Surface Technologies technical team, you will work directly onsite at our facility in New Albany, Ohio. As a member of our laboratory, you will play a crucial role in the development and commercialization of innovative products. Working under the guidance of the technical team, you will solve complex assignments, and provide creative technical solutions to challenging problems. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager of Films Americas you will plan experimental work to meet project goals and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Ideate, develop experiments with a high degree of technical competence.
Collaborate with refinish color labs, research, marketing, and production teams to lead projects forward.
Help formulate new colors to customer specifications.
Utilize Sigma logic methodology for designing experiments and data analysis.
Communicate and share knowledge within the team and with collaborators.
Manage concurrent projects and prioritize tasks in response to changing priorities and timelines.
Demonstrate a commitment to learning and improvement, both as an individual contributor and as a valuable team member.
Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook and ensure a safe, clean work area.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
2+ years of industrial experience
Team player, collaborative, and willing to give credit.
Knowledge of thermoplastic polyurethane chemistry and processing is desirable.
