Job Description

As theProcess Control Engineeryou will work in a plant environment supporting projects that involve chemical process control and instrumentation. This job includes design and implementation of the instrument and control portion projects. These projects include estimation, preparation of capital funding requests, spending management, preparation of bidding documents, specifying and procuring equipment, issuing work permits, overseeing construction and company workers. You will plan and schedule work, ensuring that all specifications and schedules are known and met. Work will be done in a team environment assisting other engineers engaged in similar or different engineering disciplines.

This job also involves the general upkeep and maintenance of the control systems for eleven resin reactors and other control systems. You will make corrections to systems and looking for new technologies and improvement plans for the controls systems advise to advise management. You will work periods of overtime and respond to calls from the facility during breakdown times to resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Time will be spent at the facility in an office, control center, and field. Travel time will be mostly limited to offsite training opportunities and corporate collaborations.
  • Have a sound working knowledge of the maintenance and engineering of instrumentation/electrical devices, programmable logic controllers (Allen Bradley), HMIs (GE), Ethernet protocols, and distributive control systems (Fischer/Emerson),
  • Multiple disciplines of engineering, and production personnel while coordinating project implementations and complying policies.
  • Experience w/ Microsoft products and AutoCAD.
  • Have skills in process control and instrumentation.
  • Read develop P&IDs and loop (I/O) diagrams for process control documentation.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or comparable)
  • 5 years of experience working with process controls in the chemical industry.
