As theProcess Controls Automation Engineerwill play in necessary role throughout our plant located in Delaware, Ohio and will design and implement process control projects to improve productivity, product quality, cost and safety. Reporting directly to the Process Controls Engineering Manager, the Process Controls Automation Engineer will use automation hardware and software solutions to improve the processes. Additionally, the Process Control Automation Engineer provides technical expertise to support production activities and to resolve electrical and process control problems.
Key Responsibilities
*Create, program and troubleshoot Process Control system hardware and software including PC's, PLC's, HMI's, and VFD's.
*Specify and troubleshoot process instrumentation including devices to measure temperature, pressure, flow, level, weight, speed, viscosity, concentration.
*Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests/products/equipment.
*Work assignments of multiple complexity and scope, often requiring the development of new or improved processes or techniques.
*Coordinate planning, organization and implementation of engineering projects within constraints of specific goals and target dates specified by management.
*Identify and stay up to date on new trends in the controls field that could benefit us, identifying and coordinating training programs for relevant staff.
*Interpret principles, theories and concepts of process control engineering and make design recommendations.
*Support operations by trouble shooting process control system issues.
Qualifications
*B.S. in an Electrical Engineering related field of study.
*3 years directly related work experience with automated controls in a manufacturingenvironment.
*Experience in project management.
*Experience with electrical circuits with the ability to design.
*Experience with Allen Bradley PLC, iFix HMI, and Networking.
