Summary:
This individual will support a project by managing an already implemented Lock Out Tag Out Program (LOTO). This position will identify how to safely isolate mechanical energy sources and lock them out to keep existing operations safe and productive.

This position will be directly responsible for the Mechanical site safety for the LOTO program and will work with their Electrical Counterpart on LOTO for the entire site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review LOTO procedures from subcontractors ensuring the safety of the system.
  • Ensure LOTO procedure is followed on site.
  • Assist with process walk downs to assure LOTO procedure is followed.
  • Keep a log of all system turn over and LOTO that have happened to date.
  • Report to company and client on status of any LOTO on site.
  • Assist Safety personal on mechanically safe conditions and how to achieve them on site.

Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years similar construction Field Management experience.
  • 1+ years in a safety related role
  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management (A plus but not required)
  • Technical experience progressing through the ranks as a Journeyman to a Foreman to a General Foreman.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to understand, interpret, and consistently apply safety laws, company policies/standards, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
  • Must possess superior communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.).
  • Significant business acumen is required.
  • Ability to build trust and achieve results with clients and company team members.
  • Ability to plan strategically over the entire span of a project and foresee and mitigate obstacles to performance.
  • Read drawings, interpret work specifications and work scopes. Have working knowledge of large, complex mechanical systems, and how they work.
