Machine Operator - Roll Former

We are currently searching for a Roll Former to be based out of Hebron, OH. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this person will be responsible for the setup, operation and preventative maintenance of roll forming machines in the production area. The roll former will conduct maintenance and provide maintenance assistance when necessary to stamping machines.

.What you'll do:

• Load and unload raw materials and finished products using fork trucks and other material handling devices.
• Perform machine change over's, preventive maintenance, and other tasks as assigned
• Monitor the quality and take immediate corrective actions
• Meet or exceed basic production standards
• Communicate and report all quality and productivity non-conformance.
• Maintain a strong customer focus
• Maintain all production logs and data as required
• Must be able to manipulate tools and fasteners repetitively in narrow spaces and with sufficient force to repair, install, and remove equipment.
• Must be able to read precision measurement tools for quality assurance.
• Ability to stand for long periods of up to twelve hours.
• Must be able to use visual and audio observations, to monitor the equipment's operation to identify improper and/or unsafe conditions.
• Must be able to clearly communicate operational performance and issues to the proper members of the operational team. Documenting associated downtime for process tracking.
• Setting up of work area, assuring that all materials required to produce the assigned product are correct and all safety checks have been made.
• Standard work training, 5S, lean sustainment and problem solving.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Be able to push and pull extremely heavy loads using leverage tools
• All duties as instructed by supervision

What you'll bring:

• High school diploma and 1-year manufacturing-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Lean concept sustainment & problem-solving skills
• Safety action orientated
• Flexibility of shift schedule including overtime and weekends
• Visually differentiate between patterns of operation
• Ability to act quickly to stop the Roll forming Machine when an abnormal operation occurs
• Ability to hear differences between normal and abnormal operations
• Use precision measurement tools.
• Documented evidence of prior forklift experience and ability to earn an Atkore Forklift Certification
• Ability to follow operational and safety instructions
• Must have an outgoing positive attitude, be a team player and have strong work ethic
• Demonstrates Atkore Core Behaviors - Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence

Within 3 months, you'll:

• Complete required training
• Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role
• Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations
