HR Coordinator
Job Location: Mt. Vernon Plant, Mt. Vernon Ohio
Summary
The HR Coordinator provides overall human resource and benefit administrative support to the Owens Corning Mt. Vernon, OH facility. Responsibilities include recruiting, staffing and onboarding, employee engagement, and general administration of human resource policies and practices. There may be some regional responsibilities as well.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Payroll
- Responsible for maintenance of time clocks
- Kronos timekeeping and payroll administrator for Mt Vernon Site
- Respond to payroll issues from employees
- Coordinate all payroll changes, tax status, direct deposit, garnishments, deductions...etc)
- Assist with annualmarket wage survey
Benefits
- Handle life change benefit form processing
- Respond to routine benefits questions
- Facilitate annual open enrollment communications and processes
- Manage FMLA/STD processing paperwork
- Lead Wellness Initiatives
Database Management
- Update employee data in SuccessFactors (shift, job, pay, structure changes, etc.)
- Maintain databases and routine spreadsheets for analytics
- Run routine and non-routine reports to track key metrics
Staffing
- Manage all hourly recruiting efforts
- Coordinate pre-employment-physicals and Drug Screens
- Request Background Screening
- Conduct timely applicant written correspondence
- Provide New Hire Orientation and on-boarding for hourly and salary employees
Employee Files
- Ensure that employee information is filed in compliance with company record-keepingand governmental regulations
- Maintain confidentiality and security of employee information
Other Activities
- Lead Diversity/Inclusion initiatives and community service efforts
- Implement employee retention and engagement programs
- Document training program for successful execution of Total Productive Maintenance
- Respond to employment verification requests
- Manage walk-in traffic
- Coordinate monthly random and follow up drug screens
- Facilitate/coordinate plant events
- Implement policies as assigned
Job Specifications
Education and Experience
- Associate degree or bachelor's or in Human Resources or related business field preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experienced in manufacturing environment preferred
- Two years' experience in human resource administration required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
- Intermediate knowledge of human resources administration practices preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of human resources laws and regulations preferred
- Heavy utilization of Microsoft Office suite, including Excel
- Ability to analyze data trends and make recommendations to improve the business
- Customer service focused
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Work independently and interact with all levels of employees (production and management)
