Job Description Overview

Responsibilities

Summary:

The Sarnova Finance Business Analyst will play a key role in ensuring that organizational projects and initiatives meet objectives by increasing employee adoption and usage while also identifying opportunities for additional improvements throughout the finance business groups. The Business Analyst will have a good knowledge of general business processes, best practices, and a keen ability to recognize innovative solutions to improve inefficient procedures.

Responsible for ROI realization and tracking, change adoption, SOP development, and functioning as the departmental change agent. The person in this role will play a critical part in the evolution of the shared services center of excellence at Sarnova. Working closely with the leadership level change sponsors in each department, this position will navigate inter-departmental impact across our projects ensuring end-to-end process documentation stays up to date, teams are trained on and following the most efficient procedures and reporting is in place to track user acceptance and achievement of results.

In this newly created role, you will have a direct impact on the successful implementation of our new financial platform that will improve our operational efficiency, and position Sarnova for future success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop & maintain detailed project plans that encompass all disciplines involved with the project.
  • Assist the business with performing queries and defining report requirements in an efficient way for analysis.
  • Effectively communicates with business users/owners and proactively contributes ideas and proposed solutions to the business and financial system team members.
  • Serve as a liaison to IT management, reporting on the status of current projects, identifying issues and assessing their impact.
  • Manage several concurrent projects, from planning through implementation, following through on "postmortem".
  • Responsible for hands-on technical responsibilities and support as needed such as testing, and troubleshooting issues related to implemented code and/or applications.
  • Coordinate project milestone reviews.
  • Performs functional research or data mining from multiple internal financial system sources.
  • Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in support issues, financial data and proactively recommends actions and solutions.
  • Responsible for tracking project changes and produce updated schedules as agreed with relevant parties.
  • Complete follow-up items on projects, including administrative & summary documentation.
  • Document and maintain project plans using agreed upon software/tools.
  • On a continual basis, analyze business processes, systems and applications and recommend changes to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Support project sponsors during the lifecycle of their project.
  • Demonstrates understanding of business process workflows and how financial applications are used in support of those processes.


Skills/Experience Required:

  • Skilled problem-solving capabilities.
  • Capable of working independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively with project teams and prepare project presentations.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Knowledge of corporate accounting practices and business processes and how those practices are implemented within the ERP platform.
  • Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively and juggle multiple projects.
  • Proficient research and analytical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the company as well as with customers and various outside agencies.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with O365 suite, as well as, Project Management software/tools.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
  • Strong interest in accounting, finance and systems.
  • Technical proficiency with ERP systems; D365 F&O strongly preferred.
