Job Description

Tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases; serves as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on sponsored research grants and on original research projects; conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies in the area of HIV/AIDS, immunology, innate immunity and T cells with a focus on translational research ; develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain funding to support research program; secures and maintains NIH RO1 or equivalent funding; writes and publishes research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals; attends and makes presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences; develops national and international scholarly reputation; instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in division, department, college and university committees and initiatives.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
PhD degree required. Considerable post-doctoral experience in basic research required; considerable experience in HIV/AIDS, immunology and innate immunity research required; proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals preferred; understanding of key components of grant writing and obtaining funding in support of research required; experience with administration of funded research required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
