Job Description Scope of Position This position is responsible for the coordination of the entire transplant process from day of referral to time of transplant. Position Summary Coordinates all potential transplant patient evaluations and is responsible for the medical/surgical data and pre-op studies. Frequently coordinates and assists surgeons with evaluation on adults, and occasionally children from infants to adolescence. Serves as liaison for transplant team, nephrologists, consulting services, dialysis facilities, dietetics, social services and insurance company representatives/case mangers. Develops and presents educational program for patients and medical and nursing staff in the Central Ohio area. Prepares budget, monitors expenditures. Generates and reports productivity to surgeons and administrative offices on a monthly basis. Coordinates and submits annual statistics to national organizations and government agencies. Coordinates and arranges monthly staff meetings. Performs staff evaluations and interview new applicants. Implements new procedures with staff.
Required Qualifications Graduate from an approved school of nursing. Current Ohio licensure. Prior renal/transplant experience. Current Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) certification. Flexible, sensitive and adaptable to transplant activities.
