Summary

Will participate in the activities of the Technical Services group by performing tests, part fabrication trials, data collection, and production of high quality reports for customer communications. Position requires domestic and international travel for customer meetings and on-site Technical support, travel not to exceed 25% of working hours (typical).

Duties and Responsibilities

* Communication with internal and external stakeholders to effectively deliver instructions, findings, and data.

* Coordination with internal Product Development teams to meet Customer Requirements.

* Collaboration with external equipment vendors to understand prepreg material behavior in new/cutting edge processes.

* Leads investigations needed to solve problems, both internally and externally.

* Knowledgeable of aerospace qualification and equivalency processes and procedures.

* General laboratory skills with ability to operate sensitive analytical equipment independently and safely.

* Organizes test samples and supplies in preparation for tests, and performs tests while meeting required completion dates.

* Coordinates and assists engineers and scientists in ordering and maintaining lab supplies and equipment; implements storing and retention documentation associated with lab instrumentation.

* Understanding of diverse personalities and cultures with knowledge of Japanese management philosophies and practices.

Education and Qualifications

* Minimum of 7 years' experience fabricating Aerospace quality parts using wet-layup, vacuum infusion, and/or prepreg.

* Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

* A fundamental knowledge and understanding of composite technology (material, fabrication methods, and basic properties).

* Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.

* This position involves working with technologies and information which are subject to U.S. export control regulations. Under these regulations, Toray CMA must review certain candidate information including citizenship, basis of United States work authorization and country of origin. Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job tasks are usually performed in an office environment however this position requires the ability to move within production areas including climbing stairs.

Position requires the ability to read, write, speak and understand English at a level necessary to successfully perform assigned responsibilities. Ability to utilize/operate a computer, peripheral equipment and appropriate software. The ability to hear, speak, use hands/fingers and the repetitive motions of hands/wrists are frequent. Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to move within the production area and occasionally climb stairs. Vision abilities require the adjustment and focus of sight. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.

Wage Scale: $105,019 - 143,905
